SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP
KEERAPAT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (KPIS) grants Sports Scholarship to eligible KPIS sports talented students with at state, national or international level as well as the interview result. Applicants can avail of this scholarship once for the entire Elementary level and Middle School level and High School level. When one level is completed the grantee needs to re-apply for scholarship to the next level. However, when the Sports Scholarship is revoked or not renewed, the recipient will no longer qualify for a scholarship until he/she enters the next level.
Selection is done by the Committee on Sports Scholarship and eligibility is based upon a student who has demonstrated a high achievement in their chosen sport and is currently competing at state, national or international level. Applicants must be eligible for admission to KPIS's programs
KPIS Sports Scholarship enables gifted sportsmen and sportswomen who have the potential to perform at a sound academic level, to gain a higher qualification without forfeiting their sporting opportunities.
Students who receive a KPIS funded Sports Scholarship must maintain a minimum average academic grade requirement for the whole academic year (2 semesters) as follows:

Note: Administrative grades of Incomplete (Inc) or (I), no credit due to Absences, etc. are considered grades lower than the minimum grade requirement.
Students have two (2) semesters to meet the minimum academic grade requirements for scholarship. If the recipient's minimum average grade or GPA falls below the minimum average academic grade required, the KPIS funded Sports Scholarship will not be renewed and his/her name will automatically be removed from the scholarship list. Likewise, any misconduct on the part of the recipient will automatically cancel the Sports Scholarship grant.
All applicants must submit the following requirements:
- Official transcript of records from the former school sealed and signed by the school Registrar, with computed GPA.
- Certification of Good Moral Character from the Principal and Guidance Counselor of the former school.
- Academic Merit (Section 2): Attach a list of the academic achievements at senior secondary level if applicable and/or education history including subject or academic merit awards, including any involvement in National or State competitions (i.e. Math Minds, Debating etc).
- Sporting Achievements (Portfolio) (Section 3)
- Two (2) referees, known the candidate for Sports Scholarship for at least 2 years and can comment on the candidates sporting achievements, not in any way blood related. Referee reports outline the candidate's suitability for a KPIS Scholarship. (Section 4)
- Community Service (Section 5): Provide a brief profile (paragraph), on any areas of community work/activities you have been involved with. Examples may include; volunteer work or membership of clubs.
- Personal Statement (Section 6): Provide in no more than 200 words the following statement including:
- Describe how the KPIS Sports Scholarship will help you make a difference in the school community
- Identify one significant challenge facing students today and how to address this challenge.
- Completed application form, signed by the student and parents concerned.
- Medical Examination Certification from a first class physician or an official medical establishment.
After receipt and evaluation of the aforementioned requirements, practical examination and/or audition and interview will be scheduled to prospective applicants.
Applicants who satisfactorily passed the examination/audition and interview will be granted the Sports Scholarship and will be assigned to the KPIS Sports Teams. They are required to attend all practices and competitions.
The committee on Sports Scholarship shall be composed of a Sports Professional, Head of the PE Department, and Counselor all appointed by the President. It shall organize, prepare and administer all the requirements to qualify applicants for scholarship such as application forms, evaluation of documents submitted, preparation and administration of examination questionnaire and interview schedules. Further, it shall be empowered to deliberate on all matters concerning the Sports Scholarship and shall recommend to the School Board the list of prospective Sport Scholars for confirmation.
